Hot Springs Golf Course Details at Glenwood Country Club

Glenwood Country Club

Glenwood Country Club, established in 1994 and designed by Bobby McGee, remains one of the top golf courses in Arkansas. After, a change in ownership and big renovation in the fall of 2010, the course has been restored to its original classic design with new Bent grass greens and Bermuda fairways. The course looks amazing, plays better than it ever has in the past and is conviently located just 30 miles outside of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Known as “A Great Course with Great People,” from golf digest the course offers a challenging 18 hole, Par 72 layout, carved from the surrounding scenic woodlands. The course gently rolls and undulates in and out of the native hardwood and pine forests, with the occasional tee shot blasting out of a narrow shoot. The Bermuda fairways are often severely sloped, which demands accuracy off the tee and spin control. The course plays to a relatively innocuous 6,561 yards from the back golf tees and carries a rating of 71.7

Many of the approach shots are uphill and require solid thinking and yardage adjustment in order hit the perfect golf shot next to the flagstick. The wrong club choice can result in disaster and leave even the most skilled golfer with a challenging 30-yard putt. Nowhere is this more evident than on the 15th hole, which is Glenwood Country Club's signature par three. The hole is 178 yards and requires golfers to carry their ball across a beautiful blue pond. The green juts out into the water, which forms a peninsula. While three sides of the green are surrounded by water and large rocks it creates a beautiful landscape as it also guards the front of the hole. The hole is not particularly long or difficult on the scorecard, but choosing the wrong club to hit into this par three can force a golfer to execute a long and winding putt.

So what inspired Golf Digest to give Glenwood 4 1/2 out of 5 possible stars when they reviewed it? It's the overall package. "Excellent value, fun to play...Great course. The par 3s are beautiful with water surrounding two of the holes. The price was incredible... Best bargain, great course, and a beautiful setting." What more can you say? Come to Glenwood Country Club with the expectation that you are going to have an incredible golf experience. Our caring and friendly staff awaits your arrival and looks forward to making your experience at Glenwood Country Club the best that it can be.
